YOUR Executive Mentor Coach asks you:

Do you practice strengthening your mental activities?
Are you keeping your mind on your goals?
Are you still creating what you envisioned?

Key to Performance:       YOUR Brilliant Mind

YOUR Business Strategy today is to focus on your brain housing unit (mind) and consider how you could assist it to better support your performance goals.

Why I share this before a long Holiday weekend:

I have several clients who are remembering the importance of distractions. In fact it’s really impeded upon their performance this past month and I don’t wish this upon anyone! Maybe we can do some preventative work here.

The old saying, “where ever your mind goes, so does your attention/focus/creation” is factual. Let’s examine how this maybe showing up for you…

During your productivity (allotted work schedule) time, is your mind distracted with

  • long weekend plans
  • summertime prepping of menus and activities
  • summer vacation
  • summertime yard work and gardening
  • family and friends  gatherings (weddings, graduations, reunions)

Most people are in this mental mode already, and appropriately so! Not an issue 🙂

HERE’S THE CAUTIONARY RUB:
Focusing on your distractions during your prime-time working hours.

So let’s make sure we are taking the time to keep our minds focus on producing the appropriate activities for our production to secure our preferred results. That way you can ensure doing all the items on your summertime list with sheer enjoyment instead of being worried about your production and finances.

YOUR Brilliant Inquiry:

  1. What triggers your distractions?
  2. What can you do to tighten this up?
  3. How can you keep your head in your game of performing at your best?
  4. Make 15 minutes on your schedule TODAY to do this assessment and create some new habits so your head can create your professional and personal desires with minimal effort!

Question: What’s the one thing that always finds a way to distract you?
(Please share in the comment section and maybe we can help each other become more aware of  distractions).

It can be all different this year…
if you plan to deliver different results in 2013!

  1. One distraction that I am able to handle now is phone calls. I have the call ID on my phone, so I can see if it is any of my children calling. If it is, I leave it and let them leave a message. I have told them more than once, that just because I am at home, it does not mean, I am not working. I AM WORKING ALL THE TIME! hahahah (It really does help to LOVE what you do for a living.) The children were a major distraction and stopped me from getting things done.
