Play – time to Improve Productivity

Play – time Improves YOUR Productivity!

Play -time with Movies to grow business
Movies that support your Business

Do you know if you are optimizing your productivity?
Are you too stuffy with being “all business”?
Do you take time – outs to play once in a while?

I’m amazed that it is already December, aren’t you? I know that I usually do a big push to close this calendar year with awesome sales, but I’m not doing that this week! Instead we are going to have some fun first 🙂  And now, onto this week’s topic: P-L-A-Y! If you’d like some creative ways to play (other than what is going to be shared in this post) click onto: Make Work Fun post

Do you take time to play? Optimize YOUR Productivity by playing more!

Play. It’s a great word. We all love playing. Being playful is what makes us so endearing, right? Are you getting enough play – time in? If your play meter is a little low chances are your productivity is low too.

My theory is productivity levels are significantly impacted my our emotions and mental state. When we feel better and love living a little bit more than normal, we tend to accomplish more than when we don’t.

So how does play – time optimize your productivity?

The more creative and less stressed you feel, the more productive you are. If you feel you have options and you choose to do something (versus it being a “must”) the more apt you are to accomplish it effectively and efficiently!

Do you play or are you “all business”?

Playing will actually allow you to relax more. When you relax, you allow for all sorts of solutions to present themselves instead of trying to do things the same (and possibly ineffective) way. Besides, do you like talking to a stuffy shirt? Then why be one yourself?

I take time outs to play and share them with you… do you know how?

Besides the posting sharings of what Business Leaders can learn from ants, I also do Business Movie Reviews for you to learn from while you are being entertained! For the past 2.5 years I have been watching movies and writing Business Movie Reviews. Why? To introduce different ways of looking at things and business strategies  and tips so you can build a business that is profitable and shines brightly! I have a myriad of genres to select from: animation, family, super-heroes, adult, sports, historical, romance, and holidays.

OK, I admit it! I have a special little quirky gift: I can watch a movie and regardless of what the topic is, I can convert/translate what I am viewing into a business lesson or strategy. I think it would be more fun to see how a business strategy could unfold during a movie, than have to sit in a classroom and learn all about it. check them out! I encourage you to read the Business Movie Review prior to watching the movie. This way you can notice the particular points I share and then see how they relate to your specific situation.

There’s almost 30 movies to review in the Categories section at the bottom of the left hand sidebar for you to play with! From not until the new year, I will be adding one new movie a week. So even though you may be taking some time to relax and play a bit, you can be helping your business evolve! Cool, isn’t it?

Curious and want to play a little now? This family movie, Mr. Popper’s Penguins  should be a family favorite for everyone! It reveals 3 different strategies for you to strengthen your business while enjoying something wonderful. Feel free to add comments – I always respond back! FYI: I typically review one movie a month in a Wednesday posting. Happy viewing 🙂

Are you playing enough to optimize your productivity levels? … Please feel free to share in the comment section and let’s see how we can all help each other out!

It can be all different this year…if you plan to deliver different results in 2013!

If you or your business needs further coaching on this particular topic
or any other Business Strategies we have been discussing,

  1. Didn’t this movie; loved the book. (which is why I didn’t the movie) But I look forward to the movie review.

I don’t have the gift to translate movies into business strategies. Heck, I have a degree in film but I enjoy them too much to just critique them, which is why I’m not a movie critic. But I do use movies and TV as examples for better living in my workshops….so thanks for reminding me to play more and get more creative!

    1. Good, you will love it! Go back into this post and the title “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” is hyperlinked to the review. It’s already there waiting for you to scout it out and watch the movie 🙂 Glad you are using movies to help others learn too! Must be a fellow brilliant mind 🙂 Blessings!

  2. I have to agree with you.
I think taking some time to relax is an effective way to boost productivity. If I don’t feel like being productive, I take it as a sign that my brain is not ready to focus and work. Luckily for me I have a flexible work schedule and I work from home, that’s the reason why I can take a few hours to rest my mind before getting back to work.
I can’t deny the fact that there are just those times that I can’t get anything done, even if it’s just getting out of bed. What I do is sleep, have a movie marathon with my family, go out and have a couple of drinks. Having an unproductive day makes me do productive work stuff the next day.
But of course I still have some blog posts that helped boost my productivity. If it’s okay, I would like to share this:
